You create your own discussion threads, as long as they relate to the forum subjects. If you are unfamiliar with Forums this page is designed to help you get familiar. The Mission of the Group Facilitation and Collaboration (GFC) Forum is:
To encourage Collaboration and the use of Facilitative skills in business and in life. This Forum is dedicated to the preservation and encouragement of Facilitator Skills, Collaboration, Leadership, and Diversity for the betterment of humankind.
Forum Values:
The forum holds the following values:
- Freedom of speech and privacy is respected. We encourage open communication regarding your views on the forum subjects.
- Respect for the individual is uncompromising. Demeaning posts will not be tolerated and will be deleted and the member may be banned from the Forum. Treat others as you want to be treated.
- No commercials or advertising are allowed.
- We believe in collaboration - your ideas and suggestions are welcome.
Audience:
The audience for this Forum is anyone interested in Facilitation, Collaboration, Leadership, and Diversity.
Registering:
When you enter the Forum, you will be asked to register. This safeguards the other members. You need to provide a valid email along with a user name and a password (your own). You must respond to an email to validate your email. After that, you are registered. Click "remember me" to avoid entering your password every time.
Avatars
To maintain a consistent look on the Forum, we have a gallery of Avatars (a graphic symbol that represents you) for you to choose from. These have been sized properly and are of the proper format for the forum. If you have your own avatar that you wish to include, please contact the Administrator or Professional Misfits. We'll be happy to format your avatar and insert it into your profile.
The Home Page:
The home page is where you start. See below:
This page contains your user information on the left side. It contains a calendar and information about the Forum on the right side. Once you register, you can view the discussion threads. Clicking on a discussion thread allows you to view it and to reply. To modify your profile after registration, click on the left button that is labeled "User CP". This allows you to modify your information.
Discussion Threads:The discussion threads are sub-topics within a forum subject. They are categorized by subject so that you don't have to read those in which you are not interested. See below:
To view a discussion thread, click on it . To reply, you can reply either by clicking on "Reply" for a Quick Reply or click on the button that says "Reply Now" for a more detailed reply. Your reply will be posted and others can reply to you. Enjoy.
The Calendar of Events:
A calendar of events is shown on the home page on the right side as well as separately if you click on it. We post events of interest to everyone such as conventions, conferences, etc. To post an event, please contact the administrator. We do not post commercial events, such as classes. For additional information about commercial events, check the member list for their home page.
FAQs:
Frequently asked questions (FAQs) are valuable in answering your questions . Please review them, they are designed to answer your questions and make your time on the Forum enjoyable. If they don't answer your questions, please feel free to contact the administrator.
Alumni:
Our Forum is not commercial. However, to provide benefits to alumni of the The FAST Facilitator Workshop, we have a private discussion thread available to alumni only. To be able to view this discussion thread, each alumni must register and then send an email to the administrator with your name, company name and address, and phone number requesting to be included in the alumni group. We will include you in the alumni group and you will then have access to the Alumni discussion threads.
